සිංහල සහ හින්දු අළුත් අවුරුදු උදානය 2025 - අප්රේල් 13
The Sinhala New Year is a special time for all Sri Lankans to come together with their families and celebrate traditional customs. Last year, the Sri Lankaramaya in New Zealand organized the Avurudu Udanaya event, marking the first time such festivities were held there. It was a tremendous success, drawing in thousands of people to join in the festivities.
This year, on the 13th of April, we hosted the event for the third consecutive time, inviting the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon as the chief guest. The newly appointed High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, H.E Prasanna Gamage also joined the celebration, The celebration featured a variety of food stalls, cultural games, and vibrant performances of traditional dances and music. We were also grateful to have support from sponsors and community stores, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the event.
